Nairobi National Parkkm from the city centre Book now departs daily at 7.00a.m and depart for the nairobi national park. This unique sanctuary is 12 km from the city centre and is home to plenty of migratory game despite its small size, being only 114km squared. It is famous for being the only wildlife park in the world within a capital city and is one of the kenya’s main attractions for both tourists and locals. Time is spent tracking some of the many species found here including four out of the big five with the exception of the elephant. Species commonly seen include giraffe, eland, thompson’s and grant’s gazelles, impala, waterbuck, baboons, warthog and rock hyrax. Zebra and wildebeest are common but are mainly seen in larger numbers during the migration period in august and september. Lion, leopard and cheetah are resident here but are more challenging to track due to the cat family’s elusive nature. Hyena, jackal, mongoose and aardvark may also be seen. The birdlife here includes ostrich, eagles, vultures and secretary birds.
